Hex Stools, Irrigation, Shade Structures and Rock

We’ve made tremendous progress recently, and the site is really starting to come alive! Here are some key highlights:

  • Hex Stools Installation
The foundations for the hexagonal stools have been set, arranged in a playful pattern that invites climbing, jumping, and pausing for a rest. In the coming weeks, these stools will be topped with poured concrete caps featuring a bee-inspired theme, and the outer surfaces will be adorned with whimsical steel bee characters, adding both charm and artistry to the space.

  • Irrigation Complete
The irrigation lines are in place, and we’re now ready to add sprinkler heads. With irrigation installed, we’ll be fully prepared to begin planting in the next couple of weeks—a major milestone in bringing greenery to the site.

  • Shade Structure Foundations
Three of the four shade poles and their footings are now installed. Once the final pole is in place, the structure will be ready for the shade sails to be added next spring, completing this important element of comfort and functionality.

  • Earthen Bridge & Rock Work
We’ve started shaping the earthen bridge that will connect to the bike path, as well as constructing the rock retainage along the ditch. This week, we’ll finish the rock work and finalize the bike path connection, ensuring a smooth and natural transition through the landscape.

  • Upcoming Work This Week

    • Completing the remaining steel retaining walls and backfilling the garden beds.

    • Planting trees and strategically placing artistic boulders to define the space.

    • Laying out the pond patch stepping stones and beginning to assemble the elements of the pond-themed garden bed, adding both texture and interest.

Looking ahead, after the Labor Day holiday, we’ll be shifting focus to the monarch motif screen and completing all remaining steel work. We’re also excited to begin planting the garden beds and working on the finishing touches that will truly bring this project together.

It’s all coming together beautifully, and we’re thrilled with the progress so far!
