Project: Danhakl Landscape

Tucked into the granite shoreline at the north end of Payette Lake, this landscape is a quiet extension of its surroundings—carefully composed to feel inevitable. Native stone and plantings root the design in place, allowing it to dissolve into the existing terrain. Curved steel retaining walls and sculpted stone staircases terrace the sloped site, defining garden beds while echoing the natural contours of the land.

Flagstone patios are tucked throughout, offering intimate vantage points from which to take in the lake’s sweeping views and the immersive quiet of the forest. A flowing creek threads through the space, introducing movement and sound—a living element that draws the experience together.

This is a landscape of integration, where built and natural merge to create something both grounded and transcendent
