Reflection Bench

St. Lukes McCall Hospital Foundation

The Reflection Bench is a sculptural study in contrast—where mass meets elegance, and strength gives way to grace. Cast in fabric-formed Ultra High Performance Concrete with fiberglass reinforcement, the bench pushes the boundaries of material possibility. One end is grounded and monumental, while the opposite tapers to a counter leg so thin it appears to hover—challenging our expectations of concrete’s weight and presence.

Its mirrored top and bottom surfaces flow in a graceful geometry reminiscent of the surrounding central Idaho mountain ranges, evoking a rolling terrain captured in solid form. The piece balances visual weight and structural finesse, offering both a place to rest and a form to contemplate.

The bench has just recently been installed onsite at the new Healing Garden at St. Luke’s McCall Hospital. 6/19/25
